I'd say one/2 loving cup, since a cup is 8 oz, merely that's a guess, I accept a peachy scale! Best $20 I've spent for the kitchen in a long time!!!

Never measured information technology before, only weighed it only if I had to estimate I'd say 1/2 loving cup.

1 cup packed. I had some cold in the refrigerator and measured it on my scale. Granted mine is cold and so its not moist so don't fill up yours completely to the summit.

measuring cups for baking are for liquid measurement. iv oz. of ground beef is meant to be weight. I'm betting that a one/2 loving cup of footing beef is way more than than 4 oz of beefiness. Recall that a quarter pound hamburger is iv oz. of meat.

You would recall since a cup is 8oz that 4oz of meat is one-half that... I googled it in one case earlier and it said 4oz of ground meat is a cup...

Measuring cups are for liquid ounces(oz as in book). You need 4oz of cooked hamburger (oz as in weight).
one oz of lean cooked drained hamburger is equal to 1/iv cup. So 4oz would be 1 cup.

Do not confuse the eight fl. ounces to measuring actual weight!! This means 4 ounces of hamburger does Non equal a half a cup! So many people confuse this and terminate upwardly with either mode besides much or way too little. The terminal fourth dimension I weighed it out on my nutrient scale, it looked to exist about a quarter cup, possibly a little more. And then in this case people may be correct that it could be close to a 1/two loving cup, just that does not always happen! I suggest trying to find a food scale. Some of the cheaper ones actually piece of work really actually well. I am extremely poor LOL, but the food scale I bought was definitely worth the money, and information technology was on sale for $18.
If you lot ever go up the energy to desire to search it, there are a few manufactures out in that location almost the difference betwixt fl. ounces and "regular" ounces. fl. ounces are only a measurement of volume, not a measurement of weight.
Hopefully this helps!!

4 oz of meat is a measure of mass. Yous tin can't put it into a loving cup that measures book. If you buy the meat at the store information technology'due south usually weighed for you and then if y'all bought a pound of beef just judge into quarters if you don't have a calibration. Or simply quadruple the recipe and have leftovers!

I took a measuring cup (1 loving cup) and put it on a digital scale, zero information technology out and pack it with cold, cooked, drained ground beef. It weighed 4 oz..

Just so you lot know, well-nigh measurements of meat and things are raw. And so when the serving size on the package says 4 oz., that is raw, uncooked meat... when it cooks down, information technology will expect similar a lot less.

Check the pound/servings on the packaging and eyeball it if you won't be ponying upwards for a scale anytime soon. There are figures for portions of both raw and cooked meat floating around for a reason. A pound weight is sixteen ounces, which ways a one-pound chub is four iv-ounce servings raw. Portioning a single pound into quarters will get the task done. Larger quantities will be split into more, which tin make the task more hard without a scale. Difficult, not impossible. I still don't ain one and don't feel the demand to.
